BRIAN DUNNE | New York
A good head, striking songs, and a voice that truly captures the emotional impact. That's how Danny Vera—who discovered him—describes American singer-songwriter Brian Dunne, who just released his new album, "Selling Things." Songs that teeter on the edge of the personal and the political. Narrative songs, too, in which the singer, who sometimes evokes a cross between Bruce Springsteen and Jackson Browne, doesn't spare himself. "New Tattoo immediately captured my imagination," says Danny Vera about the new song by the New York State-born singer. I brought it to the attention of radio producer Rob Stenders. He immediately liked it and thought it was a strong track. Around that same time, I started texting Brian. He was so enthusiastic right away that he wanted to play the song live. After that, things took off. Now we've decided to release the album on my label PMD, through Excelsior Recordings in the Benelux. Competition in America is so fierce that not everything worthwhile surfaces. Now Brian has a chance to have his talent noticed here.
CDs, LPs, and merchandise are available through the Excelsior Recordings shop.
