Christian Lopez's new album, The Other Side, is a truly eclectic Americana record.
It ranges from fresh indie rock to vulnerable ballads. A record by a talented singer-songwriter who has already earned his musical stripes at a young age. The son of a music teacher, he learned to play piano and guitar while still in kindergarten. His virtuosity was quickly noticed, and by the age of eighteen, he had already recorded an acclaimed debut album, produced by none other than Americana superproducer Dave Cobb (Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton). From then on, Christian Lopez's career took off. However, he didn't sit still and continued to develop. You can hear that on The Other Side. Because where he was previously primarily a string prodigy, on this new album he also reveals himself as a masterful singer.
Danny Vera noticed this when he first heard the single "Miss Me Too" and fell head over heels for Lopez's voice. Vera started playing the song during his Sunday morning show on Radio Veronica, received increasingly positive feedback, and decided to contact Christian Lopez. The rest is history. Christian Lopez would become the second artist, after Brian Dunne, to release an album on PMD Records—the label owned by Danny Vera and Excelsior Recordings.
